I am very
excited about the start of this school year.
As a mother of two young girls (one starting sixth grade and the other
starting fifth grade) I know the anxiety of having a new teacher. Let me try and put you at ease. I have been teaching in the Cherry Creek
School district for a total of thirteen years.
I did four years as a first grade teacher at Dakota Valley Elementary
School, and then taught two years of kindergarten at Dakota. Eight years ago I joined the Coyote Hills
family and returned to first grade. This
year will be my fourth year as a second grade teacher, a true dream come true.
Prior to teaching, I received my bachelors
from the University of Northern Colorado in Speech Communications with an
Emphasis in Elementary Education. In May
of 2009, I graduated from UNC with a masters in Sports Pedagogy. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading,
hiking, and spending time with my new husband, and our family. This summer we spent many hours at the pool, boating,
and traveling in our 5th wheel (another fun pastime).
While we had a great summer, we are all six
ready to get back to school. I look
forward to getting to know you and your children this year. If you have any questions or concerns
throughout the year, please feel free to contact me!
Finally, if
you could mark your calendars for August
12th, we will be having a Coyote Hills Night. This will be a time
when we talk about school and grade level expectations.
I look
forward to seeing you then,
