Welcome back from the long weekend!  I hope you enjoyed the nice weather, and had a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.  Thanks for your time and partnership last week during parent teacher conferences.  We enjoyed discussing your children's growth and goals.  We have 3 full weeks before Spring Break.

This week we will be moving forward with money in unit 10 for second grade math. We will be using calculators to solve problems, finding exact costs, making change, and have an exploration day focusing on area, polygons and geo board fractions.  Third grade math will be working on unit 8, equivalent fractions and comparing fractions.

We will be moving ahead with FAST this week.  In class we are working on Long U, and for spelling we will be on week 22 review.  The words in parenthesis are previous words, and the words before that are the actual words for this week.  Please note that your child will only have 15 words this week, and check out the spelling tab on the blog for the current list.

We are moving forward with Wordly Wise, and will be starting lesson 12 this week.  The students are getting to know the new definitions.  Please feel free to have your child take home their Wordly Wise books for you to look over their work.  We will continue with lesson 12 into next week.

Our weekly reader will focus on Cause and Effect this week, and we are finishing up unit 5 environment in Social Studies.

This week in writing our expository topic will focus on who/what is worth more than gold to you.

Have a wonderful week!
