Welcome to our 3rd week of school. We look forward to a great week and seeing you all FAMILY BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28 from 6 to 8pm.
We are starting to get the swing of things and homework will slowly be pushed out this week. Please keep in mind we are still testing on the computer (MAPS testing happens 2-5 grade) and this will help us confirm reading placement.
We will start with small pieces to the reading homework: assigning a book, assigning spelling homework, introducing wordly wise, and then be in full swing very soon!
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we kick the year off right - laying the critical ground work!

As we continue to develop our first theme - communities, we will begin to weave in Science instruction throughout the literacy block in nonfiction text (such as Weekly Reader.)
We look forward to a FABULOUS first week.
Sincerely,
The Second Grade Team
