Dear Second Grade Families,

Was the 2nd grade performance impressive, or what?! I am always so amazed at what Mr. Cribari does with these students. They did a fantastic job and had so much fun. I hope you had as much fun watching them.

This week we will focus on ....

*We will begin MAP testing in both reading and math.

Math: In Second Grade math, we will continue fraction foundational work, such as:  parts of a whole, halves, thirds, and quarters.
In Third grade math, we will continue on Unit 9, involving multiplication and division of 10s, 100s, and 1000s.

Continue to practice math facts for fluency.  We want all students to be proficient in addition and subtractions facts by the end of second grade.

FAST:  We are testing Friday on Lesson 28 spelling words.

Wordly Wise: We will be starting Lesson 14 this week and will conclude and test next Friday, May 9th.

Students will be begin to revisit writing retells/summaries in order to prepare for our end-of-year benchmarks and standard expectations before leaving 2nd grade.
Classes will be wrapping up Weekly Reading Conferences and starting to DRA test. Please make sure your child continues to read every night for at least 20 minutes!
