Thursday, November 7th

Hello Families!
The first week back has flown by.  It was so wonderful to hear about the fun trips and relaxing family time over break.  We enjoyed seeing your children, and getting back into the routine.

This Friday, November 8th- your child's report card will come home in their Friday Folders.  You will see some N/A's- this marking represents the current status for some of the report card categories not yet introduced in 2nd grade.  It is also used for the FOSS science unit emphasized this trimester in your child's classroom.  While your child has been continuously engrossed in rigorous scientific inquiry. we have not explored all units to completion preventing the determination of a performance rating at this time.

Friday, November 8th- The second graders have been invited to a Veteran's Day Practice Assembly at 2:45pm in the gym.

Monday, November 11th- We will be welcoming Veteran's to join here at Coyote Hills for an assembly at 9:15am in the gym, and some will even speak in our classrooms.  Following the classroom visits, there will be a reception in the library.  We are excited to welcome and honor our Veteran guests.

All next week we are looking forward to visiting with you to discuss your child's progress and goals during our parent/teacher conferences.  If you have not signed up yet, please contact your classroom teacher as soon as possible.

Friday, November 15th is a non-contact day for the students.

This week, you can expect:

Our prompt will be "tell about a time you were proud" Through Focused Modeled Writing, kids will have an opportunity to learn as teachers model, as well as apply their thinking as they create their own thinking maps and writing.
